12 Hour Paediatric First Aid - Blended Learning Delegates complete a knowledge based element to the course prior to completing a 6 hour practical session with the trainer. The areas covered by this training: Provide first aid for an infant and a child: • who is unresponsive and breathing • who is unresponsive and not breathing normally • who is has an airway obstruction • with external bleeding • who is suffering from shock. • with injuries to bones, joints and muscles. • who is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold • with burns or scalds • with minor injuries, including cuts, grazes, bumps and bruises and nose bleeds • with conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose • with head and spinal injuries • who is experiencing an allergic reaction Understand how to administer emergency first aid to an infant and a child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness: • diabetic emergencies • asthma attack • meningitis • seizures Understand how to complete records relating to illnesses, injuries and emergencies.
This innovative course combines a one-day on practical session which is classroom based and 6 hours of knowledge-based theory completed via a workbook prior to your practical session. The course is most suitable for anyone working with children and is fully compliant with Ofsted regulations. The certificate is valid for 3 years
